| This book by the former Inspector General of the US Department of Transportation will have you thinking twice about your next choice of airline. She blows away the facade of FAA inspections and investigations and reveals that not all is well with our airline industry (do you realize that the FAA has a higher priority obligation to the profitability of the airline industry than to your safety as a frequent flyer?). The most important chapters are towards the end, where Ms. Schiavo lists statistics regarding each airline's safety record, information the FAA will not give you even with a FOIA request. Included are also insights into exactly what TYPES of airplanes are safe from a statistical and engineering POV. All in all, I highly recommend this book, it'll scare you like no Steven King novel ever has. -- Kevin Reed
